An amazing story about the italian family Cantones and their unforeseen destinies. It starts with the story of the grandmother as a young women, played by the beautiful actress Carolina Crescentini, and the day of her weeding and something that seems like very mixed emotions...

The wedding dress Carolina wears in the movie really caught my eyes because of the beautiful embroidery.

This movie is really one of my favorites. The cast are so talented and they all seem to have crazy gorgeous eyes. Here is Alessandro Prezioso, that plays one of the brothers and who is also one of those men with gorgeous eyes..

The director, Ferzan Ozpetek, half italian, half turkish, has an exquisit taste in actors, photo and music. My favorite song from the soundtrack is Una notte a Napoli by Pink Martini. The one by Nina is a good one. The last track of the movie is also a beauty, Kutlama by Sezen Aksu (turkish i presume). This movie, people, is a must!

My own design

My own design; necklace in sterling silver that hangs beautifully down from the neck (about 23 cm from the neck) and ends with a beautiful translucent topaz. Another two translucent topaz hanging from two 4 cm long chains. I love precious stones!

Midaq Alley

An author who manages to get his readers to visualize his words and even more difficult, to succeed in evoking the emotions that are written in the book, is the amazing egypt writer Naguib Mahfouz. Not being able to put down the book for three days, I became familiar with the people living in Midaq alley, the Egyptian interactions, the devotion to Allah in the Arabic language, the war in the 40's and woman's social constraints. It was incredible, this amazing book that was written in 1948 by Nobel laureate Mahfouz. At the next pay, I will buy the Cairotrilogy, do not know much about the three books, but am sure that I will not be disappointed ..

Remembering

This blog will hopefully help me to remember these things that are so easy forgotten. I hope I wont get tired of it and stop.. but with the inspiration of photos like these, how can I!
